How is the filling done?

It takes place in a much shorter time and gives the person a younger appearance in a much more economical way than serious aesthetic operations such as fillers and face lifts. The filling process consists of a simple injection applied under the skin. Before the procedure, local anesthesia is applied to the area. Although the filling process varies according to the area to be applied, it is a procedure that takes a maximum of half an hour. The filling process lasts between 4 months and one year.

What is the difference between filler and bot0ks?

Bot0ks It cannot completely remove the deep lines settled on the face. Bot0x is a procedure to remove wrinkles formed by facial expressions and prevent them from becoming permanent. The toxin applied here temporarily blocks the mimic muscles that cause wrinkles, giving the area a smoother appearance. The filler is injected directly under the wrinkles, filling this area and lines and wrinkles are almost completely removed.

What are the advantages of filling treatment?

Filling treatment is quick and easy. However, there is a risk of fillings causing an allergic reaction in some people. Some people feel swelling or small lumps under the skin. In very rare cases, these small bumps may be permanent. Very superficial injections may result in a bluish skin color known as the Tyndall effect. It may take a month or two to remove this discoloration. When fillers are not used by a specialist, death of skin cells or nerve paralysis can be observed. In order to minimize the risk of all these possible side effects, it is very important that the filler is applied by an experienced specialist doctor (a certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon).

Is the filling treatment permanent?

Not every filler is used for every type of wrinkle. The least risk and the best results come from using the right substance in the right place. Your doctor will determine the most appropriate substance for you according to the location of the wrinkle on your skin, its type and your skin type. Fillers can be used not only to remove wrinkles, but also to plump the lips, lift the cheeks, and reshape the chin and cheekbones. Fillers have also been used recently to plump up sagging hands and give them a youthful appearance.

Post-filling pain

It is normal to feel pain after the effect of the local anesthetic drug after the procedure. This pain is a mild pain and can be relieved with painkillers recommended by your doctor.

Lip filler

Lip filling is done to give the lip a more voluminous and fuller appearance. When making lip augmentation, factors such as the person's lip structure, age, the distance of the area between the lip and the nose, the person's desire, taste, etc. are taken into consideration. Hyaluronic acid fillers are generally used for lip augmentation. Lip augmentation is a procedure that can take about 5 minutes. A local anesthetic cream is applied before the application. Afterwards, the filling is distributed to the appropriate place with ice and massage.

breast filler

It is a temporary but non-surgical solution for women who want to have fuller breasts or who experience breast asymmetry. The permanence of this method may differ depending on the type of filling used.

What are the types of fillings?

  • Fillers containing hyaluronic acid: The most popular filler is hyaluronic acid. Side effects are rare, but redness, swelling and bruising at the injection site can be observed. The filler can also create small bumps under the skin.  The permanence of results varies from a few months to a year. Some research shows that repeated injections can help stimulate the body's own natural collagen production. This will help reduce the number of lines and wrinkles. There is also some evidence that less filler is needed over time to achieve the same look.

  • Fillings containing synthetic material: This is a type of filling that is used to remove smaller wrinkles and contains substances that are not naturally found in the skin but created in a laboratory environment. All fillers in this group have similar side effects, such as redness, swelling or bruising at the injection site. Other side effects include nodules or lumps that can be seen and felt and, in rare cases, may require surgery to remove. Because these substances are synthetic, they will take longer to be broken down by the body. Therefore, their permanence is higher than other fillings. However, it is more likely to cause side effects. It can also cause deformation if not applied correctly by a specialist doctor.

  • Collagen fillers: The first fillers were made by scientists from a purified form of collagen mostly extracted from cows. Although these types of fillings worked well and offered a natural-looking surface in the early days, their permanence was very low. Most collagen injections were starting to break down 1 month after treatment. Because these types of fillers were made from an animal source, they had a higher rate of allergic reactions and required prior allergy testing. New ways to process collagen have helped reduce the risks. Also, new forms of synthetic collagen have made these injections safer and more convenient for a wider audience. Although the results do not last as long as other wrinkle fillers, there are those who prefer and state that most results look more natural. Side effects of collagen injections include bruising and redness at the injection site, as well as some risks of allergic reactions (mostly for people who use cow sources).

  • Autologous fillings: Autologous fillings are fillings in which tissues belonging to the body are used. Oil is the most commonly used substance in this category. Your own fat tissue is surgically removed from your thighs, buttocks or abdomen, processed, then injected. This process requires two surgical procedures (one to remove the fat and the other to inject it). Both procedures can be done in a single visit. Additional oil purification steps in the laboratory can be costly and time consuming. The results may be semi-permanent, but you may need a series of injections over time.

In autologous fibroblast injections, fibroblast stem cells are produced mostly from tissues taken from behind the ear and these cells are applied to the skin again. Platelet-rich plasma injections are another type of autologous wrinkle filler/volumizer. Blood is taken from the arm, treated, then injected into the face. The effects can last 12 to 18 months.

To minimize risks and increase good results for all fillings, pay attention to the following items;

Wrinkle fillers are among the safest cosmetic procedures used today. But there are some things you can do to make sure your treatment is safe:

  • Don't let price be your guide. If a wrinkle filler treatment is offered that costs much less than the standard treatment, some compromises may be made in the skill of the provider or the quality of the product.

  • All wrinkle fillers should be done in a medical setting with sterile instruments. Treatments in homes, hotels, spas or resorts should never be accepted.

  • Do not buy injectable fillers from sources outside of a doctor's office. Find out what it's injected with and ask your doctor if a Ministry of Health-approved wrinkle filler is used, purchased directly from the manufacturer. If a center does not give you this information, do not let them do the procedure.

  • Use sunscreen to help protect the filler and prevent post-injection pigment change.
